Fan Tan Fabulous

This is by far one of the most amazing stores I have ever stepped foot in... Fan Tan Gallery located in Victoria's historic Chinatown, just steps away from the famous 5-foot-wide Fan Tan Alley. Bette Patrick and her son Alan are the shopkeepers and maintain a superb home décor store. I don't think I have ever seen a more remarkable merchandise display that changes *weekly* (see a post I did back in February showcasing some fabulous examples).
It is always a treat to stop in for a browse whenever I go for a pitterpatter downtown. And Coal the gorgeous cat is sure to greet you at the door, or at the cash register (sooo darling!).

Wow, I love this shop! I think it's all the hits of red that do it for me, those pillows, the red chest, the fabric...also love the Musicians Must Use Back Door sign. Thanks for showing us this!

Ack! Stop the torture!! Fan Tan Gallery is my favorite store in the world!!!! I have to complain though that you really need to include more pics of the "kitchen" and backyard area. That's the best part in my opinion :) ~A

oh my gosh - tdid you know his is my favourite shop ever? I would like to move into that wee room at the back with the courtyard. And all that cool stuff that they keep upstairs that you can't get to. It is so amazing. And then go 2 doors down to get the best coffee in town at Bean Around The World.
Right, that's it, I'm planning a quick trip to Victoria!

Midcentury (of Desire to Inspire) sent me an email to make sure I didn't miss those pillows which she thinks would be perfect for the Hemingway Room. I want to go to this shop and spend hours! Thanks for posting such a fun space. I want a courtyard.

I love the oilcloths - I need some of those for my workspace. Wish there was a shop like that where I live :)

This store is truly amazing. The items to buy come from all over the world and they are chosen with an eye that is an archeologists dream. The digs are anywhere in the world, even local where the buyer has seen something of beauty and utility but there's another quality- that X factor. Fan Tan Gallery not only brings these creations to Victoria for you to buy but displays them in a way that captures their qualities which, bye the way, are on the leading edge of the magnificent expansive awareness that our souls are moving towards. Lets celebrate with the forms and essence of this world found in Fan Tan Gallery.
