Feast O'Fun or Flunk?

The Take Your Time table cloth with 300 riddles designed by SEM
There are empty spaces that you can put your tablesetting on, and the questions and answers to these riddles are mixed and can be read from both ends of the table. I reckon this tablecloth would be the perfect ice breaker for those quiet "je ne sais quoi" dinners... or a great giggle for that dessert & cocktail soiree!
Daring or distracting?

La Designer Dwarf

There's a new gnome on the block...

The popular Urban Gnome now has a musical flora playmate, the Audio Gnome. This little guy packs a punch with designer itty bitty stereo speakers, certainly adding some jazz (so to speak) to an inside or outside space. A nontraditional accessory for that special, out-of-the-ordinary garden...
Vitamin's Urban Gnome is the antithesis of your fabled dwarflike landscaping buddy...
They are cute little greenthumb companions, and just in time for spring! Available in a plethora of interesting designs such as the Zipper, Undergrowth, Wallpaper, and Dandelion as shown here. Also available in cool light form... the Glow Gnome. And thankfully, Charles & Marie will ship anywhere in the world!

Silly or Sassy?

To add some quirky humour to thee halfway Wednesday...

Ever wonder where your soap has been... especially if it's a shared resource in la salle de bain? How about where on my towel did I just wipe that?
Never again will you have to ponder which side of the soap did you just clean your hiney with in the shower. Even worse... who else was washing their behind with the soap (not pointing any fingers here!)? Eek! All your worries can be washed away with the Butt-Face Soap from Danna Bananas based in Pickering, Ontario...
And your towel... well with the Butt-Face Towel, it's simple which way is up and which way is down. One side plainly states "BUTT", and the other half says "FACE"...
Phew, thankfully I have face towels et seperate savons just for this reason!
Um, okay.... butt of all jokes?!

Tony and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamspa

How about adding the ultimate in coolness to your bathroom time... not by creating your conventional spa ambience, but by being unorthodox and daring!
Throw on some ABBA, hit the light switch and enjoy the bright and blazin glow of technicolours as you go about your business.
I just can't get over this design, and I have to share tha funk...
The Illuminated bathtub and sink designed by Jan Puylaert for Montreal's Generate. The polyethylene fixtures have built in programmable LED lights that come in a plethora of colours, such as fluorescent orange, lemon yellow, pink, red, white and multichromatic for that ultra-hip disco flavour. VoilĂ  ... the radiant rainbow bathroom experience!
Flat screen on the wall, lots of bubbles, a sweet and sexy Long Island (with those glow stir sticks and funky blinking ice cubes), a dose of Tony Manero on Saturday Night Fever, and I've just created the ultimate disco package! Oh ya, it's me time...

Winter and Spring, Snow or Sand

Ok, ok... so it isn't summer just yet, but I couldn't resist the tantalizing prospect that perhaps, just perhaps, beach days may spring a little early this year.
As of late, I have been able to satisfy my news fix and catch up on worldy affairs... and I must exclaim wowsers, what in goodness sake is happening over yonder in east land?! Global warming... yikes! I was wondering if this fun little device would add a little, um, sunshine to their white-filled days (or perhaps this interesting mold I posted about some time ago...). Worth a go... UK 5.5 designers Sand Mold for la sand, or snow.

Definitely *not* design down the drain...

Swirl de Chocolat

"What you see before you, my friend, is the result of a lifetime of chocolate"
~ Katherine Hepburn

A swirl of luscious goodness... leftover pattern after scrapping the bottom of the bowl for every last bit of sweet delectability to make homemade chocolates
Thou lovest chocolat... I do, I do!

The Wearable Pet Shop

Silly or sassy? Clothing fun or closet flunk?
The insanely zany Pet Shop t-shirt handcrafted by Vicki Prinsen of PrinsenPhotography based in Tachie Village, British Columbia...
A piece of dark brown flannel board is sewn onto the front of the t-shirt to serve as a playing surface for the sticky felt animal pieces stored in the sleeve pocket. Play around with the petshop cuties on the front of the shirt... they will temporarily adhere to the panel. Transferrable playground fun also available in Tic-Tac-Toe and Under The Sea designs. Wow!

Coats and Cityscapes

Funky and functional Cityscape coat hanger from Up to You in Toronto... made from hard wearing multi-laminated birch plywood, and have the cityscape outline of a design capital: London, New York or Paris. Hmmm... where is Canada in this concept? Oh, well... still

cool for thy coats!

It's Groundhog Day!!

"Winter, slumbering in the open air, wears on its smiling face a dream... of spring"
~ Phil Connors from "Groundhog Day"

Thats right, woodchuck-chuckers - it's Groundhog Day!!
Will Ole Man Winter be with us for another six weeks?? Hmmm... If the day is cloudy and shadowless, it is a sign of spring and our beloved weather groundhog stays above ground, let it be Wee Wiarton Willie, Brandon Bob, Shubenacadie Sam, or the famous Yank Punxsutawney Phil.
The famous Canadian albino groundhog, Wiarton Willie, stands on guard for thee in Wiarton, Ontario
What will the forecast be here in Victoria? Mister Golden Sun has been shining all week long...
Whatever the outcome, I hope for one thing and one thing only.... that tomorrow comes!
I wonder if at 6am tomorrow morning, I will wake up to the sound of Sonny and Cher belting out "I Got You, Babe" on my clockradio. The same inane patter... only different. Boy, I hope not!

Chopsticks 101: Silly or Sassy?

Fun, funky, and functional Chopstick Kids from Teatro Verde in Toronto.
The chopstick boy, in red, and girl, in pink, are designed to fit on the top of your standard set of chopsticks. Adds some jazz to the otherwise plain wooden sticks, and helps with the complex art of chopstick mastery.
Silly or sassy...?
