Ribbon Lamp

Another garage sale find. How to give it a new lease on life? Check out Cityline's Arren Williams take on revitalising this ole lamp:

The brass finish hid the lamp’s fab curved style—a hot decor trend that’s inspired by staircase spindles and antique furniture legs. The lamp base was cleaned, lightly sanded and sprayed with multiple light coats of matte black paint. The shade, an oversize drum, was ripped and dirty. It was stripped of fabric, sprayed matte black, and then wound with different sizes and styles of black ribbon for a random effect. To attach the ribbon, use a dab of spray glue at the beginning and the end, carefully folding over the rough edge for a finished look.

Holy Moly! Let the light shine forth through woven ribbons of lush satin... tres funky!
Be inspired...
