A Cherished Chair...

Hockey captures the essence of Canadian experience
in the New World.
In a land so inescapably and inhospitably cold,
hockey is the chance of life,
and an affirmation that despite the deathly chill of winter
we are alive.

The Hockey Stick Chair via Treehugger...

To celebrate the gold medal win of our Team Canada boys in the IIHF World Junior Championships (Canada won its third straight gold medal with a 4-2 win over Russia).
And to commemorate the fact that I will be attending a Vancouver Canucks versus Minnesota Wild hockey game tomorrow. Will the team continue to ride a seven game win streak?
We'll have to wait and see, eh...

Oh, and remember January 13th is Hockey Day in Canada when hockey fans across this vast country unite for the love of this grand sport.
