87th Annual Polar Bear Swim in English Bay...

A balmy 8 degrees. Pleasant... for a polar bear?!

The Vancouver Polar Bear Swim Club is one of the largest and oldest Polar Bear Clubs in the world. Its initial swim was in 1920 when around ten hardy swimmers took the plunge into English Bay on New Year's Day. The event now attracts about 2,000 brave souls every January 1st. Brrrrr!
