Art as Punctuation

I love art, and I especially love the variable, powerful impact of art in a setting. One of the most significant ways to make a space unique and personal is by the addition of artwork to the walls. Good art is not what it looks like, but what it does to us; and thus so, art can make or break a space. It is the punctuation mark in a room. And so, what is the affect: a question mark or an exclamation mark...?!

I totally agree - art is so important to me and being able to showcase talent like that is definitely the perfect beginning and an end to a space. LOVE IT.

Wow that was really great. There's been so much posting about walls of smaller pieces of art grouped together, it's cool to see larger stand-alone pieces.

Hello from this side of the Prime Meridian! Thank you so much for all the kind messages you left on my blogsite! I'm very impressed with all the research you do for all your daily posts - you're amazing! I particularly like the picture with the map of the world!

Okay, I almost cannot stand it! Where to begin? The Magni Design room is superb. Absolute perfection and I have longed for those chairs for quite some time.

I adore the lips photo by Joy von Tiedemann. Very sexy for the boudoir.

But the clincher is the Woodson & Rummerfield piece with the wedge sandals on the girl running. I think that's an image of me! LOL! Fabulous.

I enjoy a little bit of "!" and a dash of "?" in my artwork. You have to keep people engaged, so a mix is required.

Excellent post.

Michelle,
You are hilarious! No magical powers... dang it! I wish... I reckon to be able to freeze time would be cool, but on the condition I would be able to keep ticking along (I would catch up on looming deadlines!!). Wouldn't that be cool?
Or to fly (like anywhere!), to control weather (please don't rain this weekend!), or to make chocolate and pastries and all that yummy "bad" stuff have zero calories! Yum!
Just a trivial Friday thought...

Have a splendid, fun-filled weekend everyone!
Peace & Joy... T.
