Opulent Inspiration

I have found myself mesmerized by the new edition of ElleDecor and the "Under the Influence" style feature on the home of Lisa Henson (the eldest child of Muppets inventor Jim Henson). Designer Madeline Stuart decorates a 1920s hacienda, and the result is cozy and serene meets exotic and extravagent. Tres elegant and opulent... akin to a luxe Moroccan hideaway.
Just sneak a peek...

A grand room... "19th-century Anglo-Indian daybed stands opposite a pair of Madeline Stuart slipper chairs; the rug was custom made by Aga John, and the vintage Anglo-Indian copper elephant is from J. F. Chen".

Luxurious and elegant dining room with patterned walls and rich accessories.
"Indian side chairs by John Robshaw, an Anglo-Indian table by Stuart, an English Regency chandelier from Paul Ferrante, and vintage Peking-glass vases from Downtown in the dining room; the curtains are made of a Kravet silk, and the ironwork and stenciled, coffered ceiling are original to the house."

Gorgeous blue walls, red rug with intricate flowers, and patterned antique club chairs upholstered in a vintage paisley gives the room a calm, inviting ambience. A 1930s Carl Malmsten cocktail table, and a 1960s Italian brass torchière in the library completes the look.

A lush outdoor setting fit for royalty... plush ottomans from Mosaik, armchairs from the Fainting Couch, and side chairs from Jaipur.

Do you know if the stencil used for the walls (not the ceiling stenciling) can be found or purchased anywhere? I'm dying to stencil my walls using the same bright colored border(s). - Celina

Sheesh, that's a toughie. You might have to improvise and make your own pattern based on what you like. I would love to see the outcome... do share when you are done your stenciling project! It will be magic I am sure! Good luck...
