Melon so Fine

"It is chief of this world's luxuries, king by the grace of God
over all the fruits of the earth.
When one has tasted it, he knows what the angels eat"
~ Mark Twain

A juicy promise... a sweet, succulent symbol of the warm days ahead!
From Hedge Gallery... cloisonné watermelon in rich green enamel with brass inlaid filagree - China, 20th century. Yummy!

This is a glorious design. I love watermelon. Seeing this not only makes me hungry, but I find myself craving those hot summer afternoons. It won't be long!

I'm liking it. Would look lovely on a credenza in the upcoming summer months, surrounded by a buffet of fresh fruit and croissants for a Sunday brunch. Eye catching that's for certain!
